• Change of Use, Welshwood, Whitney on Wye: P172963/F: Proposed change of use from agricultural to tourism (Class C1), construction of two 3-bedroom barns, provision of six camping pitches and campsite facilities block. Comes under Brilley PC, but adjacent to Whitney. Brilley PC has objected & there are a number of other representations.

P172577/F – Eardisley Fire Station, Eardisley, Herefordshire HR3 6NS, Proposed single storey flat roofed extension to rear of property to provide additional equipment storage. Supported:
“EGPC and the residents of its 3 parishes greatly value the services provided by Eardisley Fire Station. In accordance with Section 9 of the NDP, EGPC wishes to support the County’s Economy whenever possible and reasonable to do so. In so doing, the objective outlined in Policy 9.1 Jobs and the Economy is stated as improving facilities and conditions for businesses within the Eardisley group
In the case of the proposed extension at the fire station, EGPC understands the additional storage is essential to enable Eardisley Fire Station to become a first responder ‘Wading Station’ in the event of flooding within the region. In order to comply with current Health & Safety requirements, it is also necessary to store certain equipment separately from the fire engine. EGPC understands communication has taken place between fire station personnel and local residents to explain the nature of the proposed building and no objections were raised. It is hoped that communication will continue throughout the works, as appropriate, particularly if any significant noise is anticipated at specific points. In general, the design appears to provide significant and necessary improvement in terms of facilities for fire station personnel. The extension is designed in a way that is sympathetic with the existing structure and its location at the rear of the property minimises the impact on nearby residents. EGPC is, therefore, happy to support this application.”
