1. Apologies were accepted from Cllrs Nancy James, James Forrest and Ward Cllr Graham Jones.

2. No Declarations of Interest or requests for Dispensation were received for this meeting.

3. Open Discussion:

3.1. Ward Councillor Address: The Clerk advised Graham was awaiting a further update from Cabinet Member John Harrington regarding the delayed remedial works on the A438 near Whitney Toll Bridge. As soon as this was received, Graham would circulate a copy.

3.2. Public Participation Period:

  • Members of the Environment Working Group had arranged to meet with Ward Cllr Jones and BBLP Engineer Bruce Evans to inspect the riverbank erosion near the Boat Inn at Whitney on Wye on 25th May. A report will follow.

4. The Minutes of the last ordinary meeting held on 26th April and those of the Annual Meeting held on 17th May 2021 were APPROVED as true records and were duly signed by the Chairman.

5. Finance & Compliance matters: The Clerk is in the process of consolidating the materials required for the internal audit 2020-21 and aims to send everything through to the auditor by the end of the week. The intention is to include the annual return mandatory steps on the agenda for the June PC meeting.

6. Planning matters: Cllrs Bowman and James are finalising a draft response concerning Ramblers Way for the Planning Committee redirection, which will be circulated when complete. Cllr England advised work has started on the evaluation of adding parish assets to the community asset transfer register. This will be taken forward with progress reported when available.

6.1. Planning Application:

6.1.1. P210362/FH – Goosepool Cottage, Winforton HR3 6EB: – Removal of existing rear extension. Proposed single and two storey rear extension. A further opportunity to comment on this application had been granted by the Planning Office following receipt of additional information. The PC AGREED the new information did not require it to amend comments previously submitted; therefore, no further action is required.

7. Highways Matters: The Highways Working Group report included a site visit by representatives of the group, the Ward Councillor and Bruce Evans (BBLP engineer) to inspect the road surface & associated noise issues at the northern end of Eardisley. 8. Rubbish Issue (Whitney): There is a known issue with rubbish not being collected frequently enough from the bin in the layby on the A438 in Whitney. Councillors were asked to consider whether a larger bin was required. After discussion, it was RESOLVED that in the first instance the Clerk should contact Herefordshire Council to establish the collection schedule and, if appropriate, to question why it is not adhered to.
